About Me
My name is Janna. I am a psychotherapist working in private practice. I completed my Masters in Forensic Mental Health and Counseling from John Jay College - C.U.N.Y. in New York City and have my Mental Health Counseling License (MHC.LH.70001206).
I support clients through intense life processes such as grief, loss, and identity exploration. I welcome adults of all ages and people of any background. Though I do not presume to be an expert in all cultures or phases of life, I am dedicated to humbly learn who you are and listen openly about your experience in the world.
I utilize a psychoanalytic lens to explore unknown aspects of the inner psyche. I focus on internal developments and relational dynamics, as I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is essential and built on trust and effective communication. I am guided by a compassionate curiosity, striving to listen and engage with my clients, recognizing that each individual brings their own distinct perspective to the therapeutic process.
I remain invested in the growing and ever-expanding orientations of psychoanalysis, queer/feminist theory, and decolonization values.
